Ohhh the winter is on it's way..

I hope you've all had a great summer out there, sorry to have been so quiet but I'm busy working away on new tunes in the studio! It's been a great summer with quite a few gigs all over and there are still a few more UK dates to go before we head out to France again.

The new EP is on the go, hopefully we'll have it ready to rock before we leave in December. I'll get tracks up for you as soon as it's ready as well as few cheeky free downloads so keep your eyes peeled...!

So what could be a better way of celebrating the winter coming than an awesome competition at Nikita!!
To enter all you need to do is take a photo of yourself in Nikita Outerwear (past or present) and upload it to the Nikita contest website between 10th October 2011 to 10th January 2012.  There will be a microsite running on the website www.nikitaclothing.com featuring details about the comp, where your photos will also be visible to others.  The winner will be chosen by Nikita and announced on 1st February 2012.  Follow the rules: you must be female, over 18 years of age, hold a valid passport and be available to make the trip next year, 11th – 16th April 2012.

The winner gets a trip to Iceland, the six day adventure entails a visit to the flagship store in Reykjavik to choose some new Nikita gear, a look-see at Nikita HQ to meet everyone including founder and head designer Heida Birgisdottir, party with the crew (no mean feat in itself), go snowboarding with them, enjoy a soak at the hazy Blue Lagoon and attend the AK Extreme festival of snowboard and music mayhem where the likes of homegrown talents and global gob smackers Halldor Helgason and Gulli Gudmundsson will most likely be riding once again.  The event is held in the north of Iceland in a town called Akureyri.

Pheeew! What a treat, so get snapping it could be youuuuuu...

Little World Festival Support!

It's finally snowing in Meribel!! So greetings from the snowy mountains..

I've picked up a review from the writers at Beat Surrender this week:

This shitty weather started some time last July and hasn’t looked like moving on since, and I’m starting to need something a bit brighter, a bit happier, well just something with a bit of colour, up beat or even down beat if its offering something a bit warmer and friendly then most.

And like a beautiful light night BBQ with the sun shining, I stumble across Daisy B, now trying to find anything on the net about her is turning into an impossible task due to them tossers from Virgin providing a 10meg service that runs at 64K.

Imagine if you could some up the best of British soulful ladies without all the bitching, back stabbing, paparazzi and drug taking shenanigans, then you’ll be happy to meet Daisy B, as this lassie can definitely croon with the best of them, as shown on debut alum This Town, with soul magic Keep on Pushing (think Joss Stone without the dickhead logo), yep its really that good.

Other stand out tracks are Sympathy and This Town, but its on Ashes that the lady excels more than a Microsoft office package, no seriously, it’s a quality little number that keeps your attention gripped and wanting more, and on Found a Place, the mood turns to sadness and heartbreak, but don’t let this put you off, this little folky number is done as well as anything I’ve heard from the splendid Beth Orton or Laura Marling.

When I fnally do get on her MySpace I see that Daisy has recently got some air play via the excellent BBC Introducing, and let’s hope we get some more valuable minutes on the airwaves or digital stations for what could be one of the next best things.

A support slot at  Meribel Live : The Little World Festival has also been confirmed this week with Squeeze for more details on where to book tickets click here.
